1968 Les Paul Model Goldtop

images via this auction

"1968 Les Paul Goldtop that at one time had been routed for humbuckers and was later restored to a P-90 guitar at the Gibson factory circa 1978. Although there is no written documentation of the work that was done, it is plainly evident that it is factory work. It is an early 68 with the crown inlayed on the headstock. The restoration involved the filling of the pickup cavities with maple and re-routing the cavities for the original P-90 pickups which incidentally read a WOPPING 8.70K for the treble pickup and a COLOSSUS 9.80K for the neck pickup."
