1963 GIBSON Custom Made ES-335

images via this auction

"This is a custom ordered 1963 Gibson ES 335 with an ES 355 Neck. This guitar has the original 335 orange oval sticker, inside the key hole, bearing the serial #122013. Gibson guitar company refurbished it in 1971, the serial on the back of the keyhead was stamped over by Gibson, to match the serial number on the orange oval sticker. I have talked at length with Gibson representatives about this practice, and they confirmed that it was performed off and on custom guitars.
As you can see in the pictures, it is in absolute mint condition. Collectors have told me the value, had it not been refurbished, even tho it was done by the Gibson company, would be worth $35,000 with this particular custom color and in this condition. The latest vintage price book lists the value of a 63 ES 335 from a normal factory run as being worth $19,000 to $25,000.
This particular guitar was custom ordered by Grand Ole' Opry Star Billy Grammar, and was ordered refurbished by him also."
