"It is 100% original on all parts and pieces. The BODY only was refinished by Fender in the late 60’s. I called Fender to confirm that they did do body refinishes in the late 60’s, which they confirmed. They stopped after 1969. Here are some important bullet specs…
· This is an “L” series Strat dating to 1963
· The SN dates to Sept/Oct ‘63
· The neck date is Oct of 63 (matches SN)
· The decal on the neck is a 1964 logo
· The neck is Brazilian rosewood
· The frets are original. (The frets are low, but it still plays perfectly and very smooth. It also has the original nut and original tuners, also the original string tree.)
· The pickups are original. (cloth wiring, black bottom, pre ’64) They sound amazing
· The 3-way switch seems original
· As far as I can tell, all the screws on the pickguard are original, as well as the screws holding on the neck.
The original pickguard has aged very nicely to a mint green. It has the original shield behind it which is the same size as the pickguard. All pots are believed to be original, two of them you can clearly see the 63 on the pots, the other is hidden by the wire connections on it. "
