1952 Gibson Les Paul to 1959 Burst Conversion

via this auction
"If you are looking for some old wood with great tone, here it is. This LP started out as a 52' Les Paul goldtop and was converted to try and match the top on my 1960 Burst (0 1247 in the Burst Serial Log http://burstserial.com/gallery/main.php?cmd=album&var1=1960%2F0+1247/&var2=2). The neck was steamed out, a new top glued on using UF glue and then recarved, bursted using analine dyes, nitro lacquer. The neck reset is perfect, look at the neck join in pic #9. Original parts are: pickguard recut for humbuckers, pickguard mounting bracket, tuners, switch, switch tip, harness, pots with grey tiger caps, input jack, back plates, strap buttons. The headstock face is original and has natural checking. The guitar has just been refretted with 6100's and a new bone nut. Pickups are VooDoo PAF's and rings, Callaham nowire bridge, Retrospec 1" hardened bushings & studs, Gotoh featherweight tailpiece, input jack was made from an old pickguard. There was a headstock crack and repair done many years ago and is solid. You can see the smiley in pic #8. This guitar is a great sounding, easy playing old wood LP conversion. 5 latch Lifton case. Here is a link of the full conversion with 120 pics: http://s967.photobucket.com/albums/ae155/boogieongtr/52-59%20Burst%20Conversion%20%203rd/"
