1964 Gibson Thunderbird II Bass

via this auction where you'll find more pics.
See webuyguitar$ (RSS) for more.

"1963 Gibson introduced the Firebird Guitar. Also born that year was the Thunderbird Bass. It was available in a one (Thunderbird II) or a two (Thunderbird IV) pickup versions. It has a 34” scale neck. The II has 2 knobs and the IV has 4 knobs.

This one is a 1964 Thunderbird II. The bass had been played for almost 50 years but it still has that great TBird growl and still plays like butter. It’s one of those basses that when you play it acoustically, you can feel the resonance in your chest."
