Fender Stratocaster 1966 - Ice Blue Metallic

via this auction

"This guitar has been refinished in Firemist Gold twenty years ago. I kept it as is during 3 years, while finding the finish quite thick. This is why I decided to do it again in the rules of art, by one of the best luthiers in France named DNG - in early 2011. The color is the very rare ICE BLUE METALLIC proposed by Fender from 1965 to 1969. It is terribly successful. Metallic and vibrant but not too bright. Indeed, DNG made a very realistic light relicage. The UV traces are here. Areas protected from light (under plastic parts for example) are clearer, less greened. There are also the traces of typical faïencages of metallic colors. The trace of the paint stick in the neck pocket has been respected. There are no nail holes because they were not done anymore by the end 62. The final visual is beautiful and very natural."
