via this auction

"100% ORIGINAL-

ONE OWNER Candy Apple Red Telecaster w/ Bigsby Tremolo and Cap and board.

For sale is this vintage 1968 Fender Telecaster electric guitar.

This particular example, serial number 217820, is in very excellent 100% all original condition and includes the original hard shell case!

This rather special specimen features; a factory Bigsby, a custom color Candy Apple Red finish, and a maple cap fingerboard!

Straight from the original owner's closet and into your hands, don't miss this rare opportunity to buy an uncirculated Custom Color Telecaster!

Serial Number: 217820
Neck Stamp: 3 AUG 68 B
Pot Codes: 304-6617 (Stackpole)
Weight: 8 lbs. 1 oz.
Pickup Resistance: 5.54Ω (bridge), 6.92Ω (neck)

This '68 Fender Tele features: the original Candy Apple Red polyurethane finish, a maple cap fingerboard and a maple neck, a factory Bigsby vibrato tailpiece with the appropriate bridge plate, (2) single coil pickups, black Fender logo, "F" tuning machines, 3-ply white pickguard, multi-colored cloth wire, all original electronics with intact solder joints, and the original hard shell case.

The original C.A.R. finish (Candy Apple Red, Leo Fender's favorite Fender color) is in excellent shape, though does exhibit typical playing and storage wear.

There is interesting weather checking on certain areas of the body, but nothing overly distracting.

There are two significant dings next to the input jack cup, as well as one on the upper left side.

Otherwise, the finish is actually rather well preserved, and as can be seen in the photos, there is no unattractive fading whatsoever, which is quite rare.

With a gold undercoat, this example presents in a very rich manner, unlike some with a silver undercoat..."
