Vintage '68 Gibson USA Les Paul Goldtop

"Serial number 530518 is stamped on the back of the peghead. As is typical of the 1968 model this has the small old size peghead and has no "Made in USA" stamp on the back of the peghead. The neck is one piece mahogany and the back of the body is one piece mahogany. The top is maple with arched carving and gold lacquer finish, while the neck and back have a walnut stain see through finish. As typical of 1968 the guitar has two single coil white plastic covered P-90 pickups, tune-o-matic bridge, and stop tailpiece. The fingerboard is rosewood with white binding and pearloid trapezoid inlays. 1968 was the first year of reissue for the gold top Les Paul Standard. In 1969 the specifications were altered with a larger peghead, three piece neck construction, and mini humbucking pickups. The 1968 model is sought by collectors as well as musicians..."
