"For sale is this vintage, absolutely mint, 100% all original 1961 Gibson Les Paul SG Standard electric guitar. This particular example, serial number 15715, is, without a doubt, the cleanest example I have ever seen, and includes the original hard black case and original hangtag. It was recently purchased from the original owner's son, and according to him, his father never played it once. In person, this SG looks liek a new guitar, and it is so well-preserved, that most would mistake it for a reissue. For those whom may be connoisseurs of clean, look no further, here it is: from the original owner's closet to you, via a brief visit with me, this No Reserve, high bid wins, auction with Free Worldwide shipping means this will sell regardless of price, and with some dealers asking upward of $30K for lesser condition examples, it will undoubtedly be a bargain.

With nickel P.A.F. pickup covers that reflect like a clean mirror, and a Cherry Red finish that is as rich and intact as the day it was shipped from the factory; this impeccably pristine guitar looks cleaner than a new reissue. The only indication of age, is the light superficial oxidation of the chrome sideways Vibrola cover, and the somewhat smokey oxidation of the P.A.F. pickup covers, which can most likely be polished out, though I have not attempted to do so. There is literally no weather-checking, but if you look with a magnifying glass, you can see the beginnings of approximately 2 small weather-checks near the back of the body's strap pin. It includes the original 5-latch black Lifton hardshell case with yellow interior, the original Gibson hangtag, and the original case key envelope (though the key is not included).

As mentioned, this guitar is 100% all original, including; the original Patent Applied For (P.A.F) humbucking pickups, the original Cherry Red finish, original no-wire ABR-1 tune-o-matic bridge, original single-line double-ring Kluson Deluxe tuning machines, original sideways Vibrola, original small pickguard, original silver insert reflector control knobs, original pots and wiring, and all other related hardware. The original 5-latch black Lifton large pebble case with bright yellow interior is one of the nicest I have ever seen, and still retained many vintage artifacts and accessories within.

Serial Number: 15715
Pickup Resistance: 8.03Ω (bridge), 7.75Ω (neck)
Weight: 6 lbs. 14 oz.

This guitar feels and sounds i-n-c-r-e-d-i-b-l-e! The P.A.F.s are so articulate it makes most others sound like lo-fi cassette tape recording in comparison. Amazingly present, particularly rich, super loud, responsive and transparent, the sound of this guitar will impress even those who’ve had the pleasure of playing and/or hearing a good Burst. This, when combined with the utterly perfect neck and neck profile, will immediately inspire the best playing and tone any particular guitarist has to offer.

The neck profile is the typical ’61 slim shape: with a shallow depth, bulky edges, and a consistent form throughout the entire length of the fingerboard. The factory large frets remain perfectly intact with no visible wear. The neck heel is perfectly intact, as is the headstock.

As can be seen in the photos below, this example is 100% all original with all original parts. For photographic purposes only, the guitar was thoroughly inspected elaborately documented to illustrate the virgin time-capsule condition of this fine example. Every screw was re-installed in the hole from which it was removed, and I went to great lengths to not polish nor clean the hardware or finish, and display it exactly as it was received. Enjoy the photos, as finding proof of a better example isn't going to be easy..."
